About Alan Gutterman
Background:
Alan Gutterman brings over 40 years of invaluable venture law experience to Harvey Esquire as Venture Counsel. His career spans the entire history of modern venture capital, from its pioneering days to the complex ecosystem we navigate today.
Alan joined the firm in 2020 as Venture Counsel, bringing to bear his experience gained while working on hundreds of transactions including venture capital financings, joint ventures and strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions. He has also represented dozens of emerging companies as primary outside general counsel and has himself served as the chief executive of a venture-backed digital media company.
Alan has also authored or edited hundreds of books on sustainable entrepreneurship, leadership and management, business law and transactions, international law and business and technology management for a number of publishers including Thomson Reuters, Practical Law, Kluwer, Aspatore, Oxford, Quorum, ABA Press, Aspen, Sweet & Maxwell, Euromoney, Business Expert Press, Harvard Business Publishing, CCH and BNA.
His cornerstone work, Business Transactions Solution, is featured at Thomson Reuters’ Westlaw, the world’s largest legal content platform, which includes almost 200 book-length modules covering the entire lifecycle of a business.
